So, on to the next part of the update. You've seen the apartment, so now let's move on to other parts of Okazaki:
This is...a shrine (I don't know the name >_<) that's not too far from my house.
This is a pharmacy in Okazaki that my mother should appreciate.
Near the train station
The city of Okazaki put up Christmas decorations, so it was pretty festive for a while. Also, it doesn't show up very well in the photo, but the tower of lights on the right was made with recycled plastic bottles -- decorative AND eco-friendly!
It's a little easier to see here...
And finally, a very distant shot of Okazaki castle. I'll put up better photos once I've actually visited it. That's pretty bad -- there's a castle in the town I live in, and I haven't even taken the tour yet. This would be an example of that whole "taking-a-long-time-to-settle-in" thing I was talking about in the last post.
So that's an embarrassingly brief look at some of Okazaki; I'll try to take some pictures of the rest of the city when I get a chance. Maybe when I tour Okazaki castle. >.>; Anyway, let me know if there's anything specific you want to see/know, and I'll try to address it here (I feel like I'm forgetting really important stuff). Next post will probably be about Handa matsuri or my visit to Nara, or maybe a combination of both. 'Cause I'm efficient like that...
